This month (January, 2021) marks 5 years in which I have been practicing yoga. Much has happened in my life and the world around me during that time. Throughout my practice, I have been able to apply the things I’ve learned in my practice to events occurring in my life, especially in the last 12 months. Taking time to stop, breathe, focus, and ‘step back’ has truly helped in trying to deal with any negativity which may come up. I am able to handle tough issues and negative attitudes more in stride than before. Through my faith and the principles I’ve learned in my practice, I have come to realize that I can’t ‘fix’ the world, but, more importantly, I have learned that the world does not have to ‘fix’ me.
